18 -25 Services at Elliot Leigh TLC

What do we offer?

We use a strengths-based approach to 18 – 25 services which looks at what skills and assets a young person has and how we can best support them. The aim of our supported accommodation is to support young people to develop their independence in preparation for adult living while keeping them safe in a homely and nurturing environment. To us, it’s more than just a room; we want to provide a safe, homely environment.

Who We Help

The young people we help comprise of:

  • Young offenders who are at risk of reoffending

  • Young people assessed as being vunerable (eg. risk of CSE)

  • Those leaving care

  • Young people who have a history of substance misuse

  • Mental Health Issues

  • Those affected by gangs

  • Young people with physical and/or mental disabilities

Disability Support

We create a bespoke plan for any disability we manage. Whether its someone suffering from downs syndrome or Autistic Spectrum Disorder, we are able to adapt to all disabilities. Further assistance can be provided when required.

We are able to source disabled friendly properties. Our aim is to provide independence and consideration to people with physical disabilities.

How Do We Help?

As well as providing safe, comfortable independent/semi-independent accommodation, for each young person, we develop a bespoke plan.  The aim of the plan is to help them develop their skills and confidence to overcome barriers in order to live independently and responsibly. Depending on an individual’s needs, a plan could include the following:

  • Money Management including registering for benefits, paying bills and budgeting

  • Developing employability skills, help with application and interviews

  • Support in finding suitable properties for transitioning

  • Our Skills For Life Course which teaches independent living skills such as cooking and cleaning.

  • Education & Training

  • Access to professional mental health support

  • Learning acceptable behaviour and management skills to prevent reoffending

  • Being able to identify positive and negative influences in order to make sensible choices
